Woman Sent to Hospital After Robber Punches Her Inside Dime Bank on Havemeyer Street, Over $400 in Cash Stolen: NYPD

A woman was taken to hospital in stable condition after being punched in the head by a man inside a Williamsburg bank Tuesday who stole $400 in cash from her, police said.

The incident happened on Nov. 7 at around 8:25 a.m., when a 47-year-old woman inside Dime Bank at 209 Havemeyer St. was approached by a man, described to be in his 30s, who began to punch and push her several times, according to police.

The man eventually managed to steal $420 in cash from her, and headed north on Havemeyer Street after bolting from the bank, police said.

The victim was transported to Woodhull Hospital in stable condition after sustaining injuries to her head, nose, and ear, according to police.

The NYPD has released video footage showing the suspect in the case. He is described as Hispanic, approximately 5’8” and 170 pounds, and last seen wearing a hat and black Northface outerwear.
