Woman Reunited with Her Dog after Stolen Pup was Returned

NYPD

Aug. 22, 2019 By Allie Griffin

The 21-year-old woman whose dog was stolen from outside a Williamsburg grocery store Monday has been reunited with the beloved pup Theo.

Theo, an older terrier mix, was stolen from outside Green Corner Fish & Farmers Market on the corner of Humboldt Street and Flushing Avenue around 9 p.m. Monday. Two men on the surveillance video below can be seen approaching Theo, as one snatches him by the collar and walks off.

Bre Kelly, the dog’s owner, posted fliers throughout the neighborhood offering a “large cash reward” for the return of Theo, no questions asked, adding that she wouldn’t press charges.

On Wednesday morning, she received a call from an unidentified woman who said she had Theo and wished to return him, according to reports. By 6 p.m., Theo was back in Kelly’s arms after arranging a meetup with the woman in Bedford-Stuyvesant.

The NYPD tweeted Thursday that Theo has been reunited with his human and added that the investigation is ongoing.

I’ve been so worried about this little dog. Glad this had a happy ending with them reunited. Thankful to the lady who brought him back.

They really need to start cracking down on the ghetto impoverished areas in order to prevent this.
