A man was jumped and injured by a group of five assailants last week in North Williamsburg, who made off with some of his belongings, according to police.

The incident happened on Oct. 30 at around 4:15 a.m. near Roebling Street and Metropolitan Avenue, where the 35-year-old victim was approached by a man in a striped black and white sweater, who began to punch him as he tried to turn sideways, video released by the NYPD shows.

The video also shows two men dressed in all black trail closely behind the man in the striped sweater, while two more men, also in black, are seen running on the opposite street and toward the victim. All four eventually join in to kick and punch the victim in an attack that moved from the sidewalk to a space between two parked cars on the street, the video shows.

Police said the 35-year-old victim’s backpack, cell phone, and wallet were stolen from him during the attack. He was also treated at a nearby hospital for fractured ribs, police said.

The NYPD is on the lookout for the five men. The first attacker in the striped sweater was also last seen wearing black sweatpants and a gray backpack. The other four males were all last seen in the dark-colored garbs.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477)
