Three new affordable housing lotteries in Northern Brooklyn have opened, with newly constructed buildings in Greenpoint, Williamsburg and Bushwick each offering units.
The two most affordable units up for grabs in the lottery are in a new four-story building in Greenpoint located at 133 & 135 Meserole Ave. There is a one-bedroom unit available for $947 monthly and a two-bedroom unit available for $1,072 monthly.
The one-bedroom unit is available to households of one to three people with an annual combined income ranging from $32,469 to $57,660.
The two-bedroom unit is available to a household of two to five people who earn between $36,755 and $69,180 for combined income of five.
Nearby public transportation options include the L, J, M and G trains and B60, B43, B48, Q54 and Q59 buses. The building’s amenities include stainless steel appliances, integrated heating and cooling and a backyard for first floor only.
The most expensive of the housing lottery units are in a newly constructed Williamsburg building at 223 Manhattan Ave, where three one-bedroom units are priced at $2,276 monthly. They are available for one, two or three people who earn at least $78,035 to $124,930 combined.
The G and L trains are nearby, as well as the B48, B43 Q59 and Q54 buses and the apartment building has laundry machines and an intercom system.
The Bushwick apartment building offers the most units through the affordable housing lottery, with seven one-bedroom apartments and nine two-bedroom apartments, priced at $2,100 and $2,300 respectively.
The one-bedroom units are available to households of one to three people with an annual combined income ranging from $72,000 to $124,930. The two-bedroom units are up for grabs to households of two to five people with a combined income of $78,858 to $149,890.
The building has a rooftop and laundry room and is close to the L and M subway lines and B60, B38 and B57 bus stops.
Tenants of all the units will be responsible for gas and electricity bills.
While the units are given out to eligible applicants through a lottery, some preference is given to applicants with vision, mobility and hearing disabilities.
The deadline to apply to the housing lotteries for the Williamsburg and Bushwick apartments is Sept. 9, while the deadline for the Greenpoint apartments is a day later, Sept. 10.
