Thief snatches purse from woman near Flushing Avenue station: NYPD

A thief made a run for it after stealing a woman’s purse near the Flushing Avenue station at the border of Bushwick and Williamsburg, according to police.

The incident happened at 7:54 a.m. on Oct. 7 near Humboldt Street and Broadway when a man approached a 32-year-old woman in front of a store and grabbed her blue purse before running from the scene, an NYPD spokesperson said. The purse contained $30 and two debit cards, along with personal identification items.

The 32-year-old woman was not injured, the NYPD said.

Police are on the lookout for the man described as Black and approximately 20-years-old. A photo of the suspect was released by police.
