Super Burrito, known for serving San Francisco-style burritos out of a concession stand in the Rockaways, will open today in the Brooklyn Bazaar’s restaurant space.
The 70-seat space at 150 Greenpoint Ave. will feature a full menu of the “super burritos”, made with large flour tortillas, meats, rice, and other toppings, and wrapped in foil, quesadillas, tacos, enchiladas, and other staples. A bar will also serve draft beers and frozen margaritas.
Prices for menu items begin at $6 and go up to $12.
The restaurant will have soft opening hours from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, and will open until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. The restaurant will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, save for special events and shows.
“Our food will be available to ALL during our own business hours, not just during a great BK Bazaar event or show,” reads a December post on Super Burrito’s Facebook page. “We hope to be up and running for lunch, dinner, and late-night as Brooklyn’s go-to fast-casual burrito spot (with beer & margaritas of course).”
The burrito spot opened at Rockaway Beach’s 97th Street concession stand in May, and is led by Eugene Cleghorn and Sam Neely, two California-raised friends who missed the taquerias of Northern California after moving to New York City years ago.
