Grand Street will see another St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl this year, with a dozen bars along several blocks offering drink and food specials for the day.
The seventh annual pub crawl, organized by the Grand Street Business Improvement District, will take place on March 17, and will go from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
This year will see 12 participating bars and restaurants along the stretch between Union and Bushwick Avenues, including Second Chance Saloon, Redd’s Tavern, Los Tacos -MCondo, The Starlight, and Lady Jay’s. A full list is shown in the event’s flyer.
Drink and meal specials range from $1 off stouts with free hot dogs at the Bushwick Country Club, $7.50 Jameson and a taco at Los Tacos-Mcondo, and free pizza with a beer or sangria purchase at Dar525. The 4th Down will be offering $4 shots of Irish Whiskey, with other sites featuring $4 cocktail specials, $10 Guinness and Jameson, and more.
Homer Hill, executive director of the Grand Street BID, says the pub crawl is one of the group’s most popular events.
“It’s local, affordable, and very eclectic,” Hill said. “You got a lot of unique spots to choose from. It’s kind of refreshing—not everyone wants to do a Guinness and Jameson.”
Hill added that the pub crawl is a way to support small businesses along Grand Street.
“Our role in the community is to support our small businesses on and help promote them and connect them with new customers,” Hill said. “The event give them an opportunity to advertise themselves.”
