Pretty Southern, a small comfort food concept restaurant in Greenpoint, has closed after opening less than a year ago.

The restaurant, which served foods like fried chicken and biscuits made with gluten-free flour, along with coconut-milk cooked grits, is listed as closed on Yelp and Facebook. The 14 Bedford Ave. location opened on Jan. 4, 2017.

Pretty Southern posted in October on Facebook and Instagram that they would be temporarily closed until Nov. 10. Part of the Oct. 30 post says the restaurant closed to make improvements. Their website also appears to be offline as of press time.

Multiple patrons took to social media after Nov. 10 to point out that the restaurant was still closed.

“Pretty Southern aka Pretty CLOSED and no mention on their website,” reads a Dec. 2 review on Yelp.

“As a gluten-free resident of Greenpoint, I need to know. Are you ever going to reopen?” wrote an Instagram user.

The restaurant, created by Sam Talbot, a chef who appeared on Top Chef, sat 40 people in their indoor and outdoor space.

Calls to the location’s listed number were unsuccessful, and the restaurant did not immediately respond to a request for more information.

The closure was first reported by Eater.
