Police have arrested a 21-year-old man after he allegedly attempted to rape a woman in a Williamsburg building earlier this month.

Adonis Cabrera, from the Bronx, was arrested yesterday and charged with attempted rape, forcible touching, and sexual abuse, according to police.

Cabrera is alleged to have attacked a 42-year-old woman after following her inside an apartment building near Berry Street and South 10th Street on the morning of Sept. 3.

Police say he placed his hand over her mouth and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim, however, was able to resist, with the attacker soon running off.

Cabrera was reportedly arrested after two people recognized him on a Brooklyn street and chased after him earlier this week, according to the New York Post. While he managed to flee, he left his backpack with his ID on site, which led police to his workplace in Manhattan.
