A 63-year-old pedestrian has died after being struck by a tractor trailer in East Williamsburg early Friday morning.

On May 17, around 6:05 a.m., Son Ngoc Nguyen, a resident of Westminster, California, was walking in front of 398 Morgan Ave. when he was hit by a tractor trailer trying to back into a loading dock. Nguyen was pinned between the vehicle’s trailer and the loading dock’s retaining wall and suffered trauma to his body.

EMS responded to the scene and transported Nguyen, who was in serious condition, to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

No charges have been pressed against the 46-year-old operator of the tractor trailer, and the investigation remains ongoing, police said.

Having dealt with tractor trailers for the last 23 years… they need TLC. You must coordinate with warehouse manager and block pedestrian traffic from crossing behind a parking truck. May the victim rest in peace.
