The much-anticipated Paulie Gee’s Slice Shop is on its way to finally opening its doors.

Paulie Giannone, the owner of the famed Paulie Gee’s pizzeria chain, confirmed in an e-mail to the Greenpoint Post that the 110 Franklin St. location will open this month, but did not give a definite date.

“It could be later and it could be sooner, but it will be in August,” Giannone said.

The slice shop is the sixth Paulie Gee’s location, and will offer pizza pies and slices for take out or to dine in in a 50-seat classic locale with an old-school, late 60s and early 70s feel.

Giannone told the Greenpoint Post in March that the slice shop will have a limited number of pies available, and will focus on traditional, New York style pizza.

The slice shop was gearing up for an opening some time in March, but ran into some setbacks including “construction snafus”, according to the restaurant’s Instagram page.

The first Paulie Gee’s opened on 60 Greenpoint Ave. in 2010, and has expanded to locations in Ohio, Maryland, Illinois, and Florida.
