Man Wanted for Knifepoint Robbery Inside Hewes Station Last Week: NYPD

Police are searching for a man who allegedly robbed a 33-year-old woman at knifepoint inside a Williamsburg subway station last week.

The suspect approached the woman on the northbound “M” platform at Hewes station at around 9:30 p.m. on Sept. 6, according to police. The man then brandished a knife and stole a chain from around the woman’s neck, police said.

The alleged perpetrator then tried to take her cell phone and bracelet but failed and fled the station in an unknown direction.

The victim did not sustain any injuries, police said.

Police released video footage of the man wanted for questioning.
