Several high-value electronics were stolen from an East Williamsburg apartment in a burglary that happened earlier this week, according to police.
The incident happened just before 2:40 p.m. on Feb. 13, when a man went inside an apartment building near Meserole Street and Manhattan Avenue, police say.
Surveillance video from inside the building–released by the NYPD–shows the suspect turning to one of the apartments and attempting to force it open using his body weight.
After finally prying open the door, the man stole a laptop, an iPad, a PS4, and a Nintendo Switch, police say. He also stole a purse and cash, according to police.
An NYPD spokesperson did not have the total monetary value of the stolen items.
Police describe the suspect as Hispanic, between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall, and wearing a dark jacket and jeans, a knitted cap, and a bag. He also has a tattoo on his neck, according to police.
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782).
