GREENPOINT – A brick and mortar embroidery and printing company that is currently in East Williamsburg is moving to a larger space in Greenpoint in order to meet growing demand.

Future location at 37 Noble Street (Queens Post)

Brooklyn Stitch, which sells items such as custom-made embroidered shirts and hats, is relocating to 37 Noble St. this Friday so it can have more room to meet big orders placed by a growing number of corporations and small businesses that are moving into Brooklyn.

“When VICE moved its headquarters to Brooklyn, we got a huge order from them to make a number of customized shirts and hats,” David Douenias, the owner, said. “We were able to turn it around quickly, but we realized that we needed a larger space to fill orders like these so we don’t end up swimming in the merchandise.”

Brooklyn Stitch’s Greenpoint location is 1,100 square feet, 600 square feet greater than its previous space.

In addition to his upcoming Greenpoint operation, Douenias also owns a Manhattan showroom at 265 W. 37th St. and a North Miami location named “Miami Stitch.”

Douenias, who has been in the embroidery business since 1999, said that customers can place orders of any quantity–“0 minimum”–and get same-day service for embroidery and printing. He said his firm is able to do this because of a strong work ethic that is missing in many workplaces.

“Most people become complacent after being in business a long time, deciding that they will only take orders if it brings in enough money,” he said. “I’m proud to say we haven’t done that, and that anyone can walk in and get any job done whether its one hat or one shirt–we never say no.”

Examples of such services are in-house customized embroidery for items such as shoes, T-shirts, hats, pet apparel and tote bags.

Additionally, the company now produces business cards, step and repeats, banners and promotional products for businesses.

“We also cater to the entertainment industry, doing work for film and TV studios, commercials, music videos and production crews,” Douenias added.

The company has had several clients over the years, including Soul Cycle, Southwest Airlines, March of Dimes, and the Ritz-Carlton, as well as local startups.

Brooklyn Stitch will be holding a grand opening on Friday, Dec. 1 from 10:00 a.m. to midnight. He will be operating out of his East Williamsburg location until then.

Hours of operation at his new Greenpoint location will be:

Monday – Friday: 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Saturday: 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Sunday by appointment only
