A cyclist was struck and killed by a tractor trailer in Williamsburg yesterday, police said.

The incident happened just before 12:20 p.m., when the 30-year-old victim was riding east on Metropolitan Avenue and lost control of his bike at Graham Ave. The tractor trailer that was traveling next to him ran over his body, police said.

An NYPD spokesperson said the cyclist fell under the truck.

Police at the scene saw the 30-year-old unconscious, unresponsive, and with severe trauma to his head and body. The cyclist was taken to Woodhull Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

The 47-year-old tractor trailer driver remained at the scene, police said.

The identity of the 30-year-old cyclist has not been revealed, pending family notification, according to police.

The NYPD Highway Collision Investigation Squad is still investigating the incident, the NYPD said.
