Arsonist Sets Greenpoint Car Ablaze: NYPD

Police are searching for a man they believe is responsible for a car arson that took place in Greenpoint last week.

On Sunday May 12, around 6:45 a.m., the suspect broke into the back seat of a 2018 Hyundai Sonata, parked near Humboldt Street and Nassau Avenue. The man then lit the interior of the car on fire and the entire vehicle was soon engulfed in flames. The suspect then fled the scene.

Police released photos of the wanted suspect, taken from the security camera of a bodega. The man is described as Hispanic and was last seen wearing black sneakers, a black jacket and blue jeans.
