Development in North Brooklyn shows no signs of slowing down, with plans filed last week for a new five-story building on Monitor Street.

The development, located at 18 Monitor St., would have thirteen residential units in a building spanning just over 17,000 square feet.

The project includes room for seven enclosed parking spaces, as well as a fitness and recreation room for tenants.

The property’s owner is listed as Gentian Shyti, a developer behind several small developments across the city, including a seven-story mixed-use building in Astoria.

Shyti acquired the Monitor Street property in March of this year for just over $2 million, and filed to demolish the existing three story house in September.

The Monitor Street block includes a mixture of recent and longtime buildings ranging from three to five stories.

The developer did not immediately respond to questions about the upcoming project.
