A new affordable housing lottery has opened with 41-units on offer in a large Williamsburg development.
The units, located at 123 Hope St., include studios, one-bedrooms and two-bedroom apartments. Applicants have until May 6 to apply, and units will be awarded to qualified tenants via a lottery.
Studios will start at $1,231 per month, with two-bedroom units going for as high as $2,759 per month.
The building, located near the Metropolitan G and Lorimer L trains, features a fitness center, community facilities, roof deck, package room, and bike room. Parking is also available at an additional cost.
Nine studio apartments are available for $1,231 per month for individuals making between $42,160 and $58,480, and two person households making up to $66,800. Six additional studios will be offered at $1,772 per month for individuals making between $60,755 and $73,100, and two-person households making up to $83,500.
The majority of the units—20 apartments– are one-bedrooms, with 12 of those units being offered for $1,320 per month. To qualify individual renters must make between $47,280 and $58,480. Households of two can have an income up to $66,800 and households of three can go up to $75,120.
Eight more one-bedrooms are available for $2,292 per month for individuals making between $78,583 and $87,720 or two people making between $78,583 and $100,200. Households of three can make up to $112,680.
There are six two-bedroom units on offer, with four of them going for $1,591 per month and are available to households between two to five people. Income requirements begin at $56,606 and top off at $90,160 for a household of five.
An additional two two-bedrooms are available for $2,759 for households making between $94,595 and $135,240.
The rent price includes gas for cooking, however, tenants will be responsible for electricity and electric heating.
Preference will be given to applicants who are already residents of New York City, with additional preference given to residents of Brooklyn Community Board 1, municipal employees and those with mobility, vision or hearing impairments.
