New building permits have been filed for 85 Calyer Street, the current site of a single three-story residential building set to be demolished, where the developer is hoping to bring two townhouses to the lot.

Daniel Kaykov, the developer behind the site, said his firm—the Renovation Group—is planning on building two three-story single family townhouses at the site. The two townhouses would each rise to a height of 49 feet, and would tally 3,585 square feet each. The Brooklyn-based Design Studio Associates is the architecture firm behind the proposed townhouses.

Kaykov added that the townhouses would have an estimated value of $4 million each.

The new building permits filed on Oct. 17 come after demolition permits were approved for the site, one for the main and current three-story building and another for a one-story rear extension on the property. Kaykov said that construction will begin as soon as the new building application is approved, with a goal for the townhouses to be completed in a year.
